The new RET-3-ISO for mice and neonatal rats has all the same features of the RET-3 plus:
* an isolated sensor (can be used with montoring equipment where electrical interference from other electrodes may be present).
* Reinforced strain relief for applications where probe is in more frequent use.
* Smooth ball tip. Stainless steel – 3/4” long, .028” dia. Tip diameter .065”. 5 foot lead length. Time constant 0.5 secs.
The new RET-4 Rectal probe for very small animals (neonatal mice). Flexible polyurethane sheath with smooth rounded tip (see inset). 36” long (can be made longer). Outside diameter nominal 0.032” (max at tip 0.04”). Time constant 0.18 seconds. Max temp. 140°C. May be sterilized by Gas (ETO), Gluteraldehyde solution or autoclave.
Teflon sheathed thermocouple wires are implanted with regular hypodermic needle. 14ga. or 17ga.
When ordering, specify: Probe series (IT), needle gauge, number sensors and distance between sensors.
(e.g.: IT-17(3) is implanted with 17 ga needle and has 3 sensors. Unless otherwise specified we put sensors 1cm apart, starting at tip.)
These stainless steel microprobes have closed, sharpened tips. We can put up to 3 sensors in a 23ga needle and 1 or 2 sensors in a 26ga needle.
MT Series Needle Microprobes
When ordering, specify: Probe series (MT), needle gauge, needle length, number of sensors and distance between sensors in cm.
e.g. MT-23/5(2) is a 23ga needle, 5 cm needle, 5cm long with 2sensors. Unlessotherwisespecified sensorswill be lcm apart, starting at tip.
We also manufacture interchangeable single sensor probes and microprobes available in many configurations. Our thermocouple probes include clinical probes-skin, rectal, oral and esophageal. There are implantable needle and flexible sensors and probes for measuring surfaces, liquid and air. See our data sheet on interchangeable probes and sensors for more descriptive information on individual probes.
Save money by purchasing a bundle. The Y-maze bundle includes everything you need for automation of the Y-maze including the ANY-maze software, a desktop computer, USB camera, lens, camera mounting bracket, cables, etc. This system is configured specifically for mice. If you need assistance putting a rat specific bundle together please contact us.
Stoelting’s NEW multi-configuration behavior apparatus
ANY-box, Stoelting’s Multi-Configuration Behavior Apparatus, is a completely automated system designed to make behavioral tracking convenient, affordable and without compromising on features.
At the heart of ANY-box is the critically acclaimed ANY-maze software*, coupled to Stoelting’s new ANY-maze interface device. This combination of core components allows you to automate as many as eight ANY-boxes for simultaneous testing.
How to Order
ANY-box is a customized version of ANY-maze software* together with the ANY-maze interface (AMi).
*Note: Macintosh Operating Systems are not supported.
The IITC tail cuff’s have the ability to detect mouse tail cuff blood pressure or rat tail cuff blood pressure via the tail photoelectrically. The photoelectric sensor, light source and sensor are built into a one unit which attaches to any one of the IITC restrainers with nylon hand screws. All the sensors are nonmagnetic. They are extremely sensitive in detecting pulses due to IITC’s superior design and knowledge of mouse and rat blood pressure measurements. The ambient temperature that a reading can be taken starts at 30 degrees c. The maximum temperature needed for a test is usually 32 degrees c. for rats and 34 degrees c. for mice. The systolic readings are within five mmHg of Cannulation and Telemetry. (Validated)
IITC rodent restrainers are used with the noninvasive blood pressure tail cuff method systems for mice and rats they can also be used for tail vein injections or other studies where the animal needs to be restrained.
