The IITC Plantar Test and tail Flick Test Apparatus combination system all in one ; is the only commercially available system of its kind. No need to purchase two separate systems, our combinations system enables researchers to perform both tests with this unique design. Testing properties of narcotic and stronger non-narcotic drugs on unrestrained mice and rats in plantar mode.
Once again IITC has designed a first in the pain testing research field, the very first digitally controlled paw pressure meter. The unit allows the user to attain data for analgesic drug testing via the Randall Selitto method.
The IITC Life Science the original Electronic von Frey Aestehsiometeris used to assess mechanical allodynia with rigid tips (threshold) and the “Supertips™” (flexible von Frey hairs) are used for sensory test on all test subjects from all animal test subjects and human studies.
Slings can be used to securely restrain rodents during many procedures. Choice of restraint in many sizes and range of adjustment make the rodent sling a valuable asset to any laboratory setting.
Polypropylene base with supports made from stainless steel, one inch thick bass material provides a robust support that does not move. Stainless supports and connectors held with convenient thumbs screws allow for height adjustments. The frame is easily cleaned and dismantles when not in use.
Full body restraint is provided with the choice of either a sling suit or sling cover. Both restrainers allow for access to all limbs and the head and tail, all close with Velcro fasteners allowing for a quick and secure restraint and an adjustable fit for individual animals. Sling suits are sold in five sizes according to the weight range of the animals. The rodent sling cover is available in a single size for rats up to 500g. Custom sizes available on request.
Slings can be used to securely restrain rodents during many procedures. Choice of restraint in many sizes and range of adjustment make the rodent sling a valuable asset to any laboratory setting.
Other small animal species may also be restrained using the same frame with suits and slings available for mice and guinea pigs.
The IITC Tail Flick Test apparatus meter measures latency and/or temperature threshold when detecting properties of narcotic and strong non-narcotic drugs on mice and rats. A built-in Timer is automatically stopped when the animals’ tail flicks out of the beam of light, test result will be displayed on readout for viewing.
The IITC Incapacitance Test Meter is used for test assessment of pain and or inflammation of the hind limbs on mice and rats. It overcomes the drawbacks of other methods that might cause unnececessary stress or subjectivity on the animal. The technique known as dynamic weight bearing enables the test on both limbs allowing a clean stress free correlation to the paw pressure test. Control and testing can be done on the same animal at the same time.
Analgesia test is used for latency testing in rats and mice. The animals are placed on a black anodized, aluminum plate (11” X 10.5” X ¾”, 275mm X 263mm X 15mm) which is heated uniformly.
Plantar Test Apparatus (Hargreaves Method) for Mice and Rats
The IITC Plantar Analgesia Meter for thermal paw can be used on 12 mice, 6 rats and other animals (cats, rabbits) unrestrained when testing for narcotic drugs. Experiments are easy to perform, simply slide the test head under test subject, align the heat source via our exclusive guide light (idle state) by the attached, adjustable, angled mirror on test head to test subject and perform tests.
Supplied complete as shown with animal enclosures
The original Cold Hot Plate Test available with ramping temperature from -10 deg. C to 70 deg. C.
IITC Life Science developed the first commercially available Cold Hot Plate test appratus in the world which is capable of truly assessing pharmacological modulation of thermonociception. Used on latency and threshold based nociception for both conventional and non conventional analgesics a safe and humane way of testing.
(Hargreaves method) Glass stands only
When large group studies, are required IITC offers either version of our glass stands to be purchased individually. Allowing users to quickly and efficiently test large study groups.
